1961 MGA 1600 Deluxe Coupe GHD99909. One of 7 built. This is a rare car that had been prepared for FIA rallyes and vintage racing or simple driving enjoyment. The car has front and rear driving/fog lights, competition front valance, louvered hood, front air scoops, fresh air vent in the top, custom boot lid to accommodate two spare wheels. Inside are competition seats, Halda Tripmaster, mounted Heuer stop watch, goose neck map light, passenger foot bracing, wood steering wheel and full instruments. The car is a lightweight coupe with Perspex side and rear windows, aluminum floors, decks, transmission tunnel and battery cover. The engine is a 1622cc with 1.75 SU’s, oil cooler and electric fan. Transmission is a straight cut gear close ratio box. 5 Dunlop centerlock wheels and 4 wheel Dunlop brakes. For safety it is equipped with a roll bar, full onboard fire extinguisher system, external electric cut off switch and 5 point harness attaching points.
