Very significant, historic car just in from UK. Full ownership history from 1971 on. Designed by the world famous Len Terry and built for Malaya Garages. Driven by F1 ace Trevor Taylor to pole positions and podium finishes in F5000. Also owned and driven by Graham McRae who helped Terry develop LT-25 further and in fact bought Leda cars at the end of 1971 naming the next Leda LT-27 the McRae-GM1. Excellent, race ready condition, well maintained, five races since restoration to Trevor's '71 colors. Full monocoque, inboard brakes, 1 hour on rebuilt gearbox, strong and proper 5 liter Chevy with Kinsler injection. Snorkel and a spare nose (painted). Sharp looking fast car, a definite favorite in the pre-72 class.
History
Leda cars, before Graham Mc Race bought it at the end of the 1971 season and renamed it McRae GM-1, produced 4 LT-20's, 1 LT-22 and 2 LT-25's. This one is LT 25-1 built fr Malaya Garages and driven by F1 ace Trevor Taylor and later by Graham McRae was the most successful of the seven produced with pole and podium position/finish. The LT-27 developed for the 1972 season by McRae was renamed as McRae-GM1. Some results: 4th at Snetterton and 3rd at Mondello Park (equaling pole position), finished 2nd at Monza and 4th at Hockenheim and Thruxton. Full ownership history.
