Description

Big Car project, built in 1935 and raced until 1952 in northeast U.S. Has Essex frame and steel body. Always raced with a Riley 4 Port Model B "Banger" motor and a Top Hat box, but both gone now. Mechanical brakes on rear wheels only. It must have always been stored inside because there was no rust at all. There was some evidence of body and frame repairs at one time. Chassis and body restored in original maroon and cream. Original radiator re-cored. Original wheels with new tires. Needs motor and box. I'm getting too old and retiring from racing.

History

Built in 1935 in Auburn, Mass. and raced extensively in the northeast U.S. until 1952. Back then race cars were either Midgets or Big Cars (now Sprint Cars) and all were custom made. This Big Car was one of two built by a mechanic in 1935 in Auburn Mass. Seven owners since new, complete history, many documents and some photos.
