Ex-Steve Thompson 'Contac 400'car. Car No 2 which was the first production car and was raced by Steve Thompson in 1971 and European F3 Series.It was 4th at Monaco in 1971 and went on to win at Montlehry the following day so therefore would be eligible to race at Monaco again. The car passed to Ken Mackintosh in 1972 and then to Roelof Wunderink who campaigned it in both UK and Europe. It eventually found its way to Marc Hugi, Swiss Hillclimb Champion,but it is not known if he used the car at all. It was then imported back to the UK by Hewland gearbox specialist Cavan Riley and, following a lengthy restoration, is now offered for sale. It is fitted with a freshly rebuilt, zero miles Lotus/Vegantune Twin Cam Engine and a Hewland Mk9 gearbox. Price also includes a spare nose section, wets and a mould for the engine cover as used on later cars. Is eligible not only to run in HSCC Classic F3 but also Classic Racing Cars, Derek Bell and Historic F2.
