Description
This is one of the finest Datsun 510 GT race cars with a strong race history that anyone could hope to be the next care taker. This car was built as a semi tube tub GT4 car by Andy Pearson of Specialty Engineering, Delta, British Columbia, Canada for Collin Jackson in 1986. Collin won multiple championships in the Pacific Northwest competing in the ICSCC league and then the Pacific Coast semi pro NASPORT league for GT3 and GT4 cars, where he dominated in California in GT4 before moving to GT3 with similar results. With the folding of NASPORT Collin entered SCCA National competition where he is very deservedly highly appreciated as the only driver to win five Runoffs in five attempts and with the same GT3 Nissan 240SX. This Datsun 510 is the only car Collin raced before this and was built by the same company. I bought the car out of the mid west in 2002 and brought it back to the Pacific Northwest. After a year restoration, including a full repaint in my colors, I have raced the car in ICSCC and SCCA ever since with great enjoyment and good success. This car is a considerably superior race car to any other Datsun 510 I have driven in my 32 years of experience driving 510's. It would make an excellent addition to the ever growing vintage leagues, or it could be set up to challenge for a Runoffs in GTL. Pure enjoyment is guaranteed!
History
Covered under description. I would add: The header and dry sump pump are very recently replaced. The stainless header is custom designed for this motor and made by Porsche specialist Charles Dundon of Dundon Motorsports, Gig Harbor, Wa. The oil pump is all new and custom 3 stage by Doug at Fast Forward, Sand City, Ca. In addition I added a cockpit adjustable system to the rear sway bar. This was designed and built by my machinist and works flawlessly.
