This is one of the very few genuine period Crossle Sports cars, built for the 1966 European Sports Car Championship and driven by The Honourable Mervyn Wingfield. It has been sorted and sympathetically developed over the last five years to be the most competitive and reliable of these cars, and with the specific requirement to tackle the six and eight hour European historic races. And it has been very reliable indeed - in the last three six hour races and one eight hour race, we have not had to lift the engine cover. All systems like engine cooling and lubrication, brakes, fuel system have been properly developed for endurance racing, but with due consideration for period appearance and proper compliance with the Appendix K rules. At the events, we just put fuel in and change drivers. On track it is fully competitive against the Chevron B8 and B16 sports racers, but is for sale at half their price tag. Available as a ready to race car with fresh Lester Owen BMW, or as a rolling chassis, with or without Hewland FT 200 gearbox. It can also run with a Ford Twin Cam and a Hewland Mk9 and has FIA papers to support either specification.
This car has won a great many endurance races over the last four seasons with the highlight of victory in the Spa Six hour race of 2004 when it ran with a Ford twin cam. It is ready to win plenty more
