Frame Number: AM72-15 Engine Number: can go look if needed Gearbox Number: original to car per Hewland! Logbook: SOVREN - May 15/16/2010. Condition: Excellent
Description
I have just finished restoring this vintage racer. The resto was initiated by Porter Racing in Merced, please see pics. I finished the resto here in Washington State. Most items are new including the motor, Hewland work (I checked w/Hewland, they thought my request was unusual, but they verified that the Hewland number is original to the car), tires, paint and livery, powdercoated wheels, newly chromed suspension, new belts, new fire system, new seat, new drive donuts, new mirrors, new windscreen... Long list of new items. The new pedal box is movable as-is to three positions. I have moved it to the middle position. Accomodates short to over six foot drivers! The rollbar has the SCCA number on it. It was changed at the factory prior to delivery in 1972 as the SCCA had a new height requirement for that year. The number looks to be #49009.
History
Was raced in SCCA in Texas by Robert Samm. Unfortunately he has passed away, and his widow is unreachable for the original logbooks and file papers. So... the car has a new logbook from SOVREN from May of 2010 at the Spring Sprints in Seattle. Car has been verified with Peter Hampsheir in the UK as to its authenticity, and is likely the most original PH8 on this side of the pond.
Recent Competition History
