History
Hawke was one of the major producers of Formula Fords in the late 60s and early 70s. The firm
was formed by ex-Lotus Jim Clark mechanic David Lazenby specifically to target the new Formula Ford
market in 1968. The prototype DL-1 became the production DL-2 for 1969. One was used to good effect
by a then young Tom Walkinshaw to win the Scottish National Championship. The DL-2A and B followed
for 1970 and 71. Total production fo the DL-2 variants was only 35 cars, making this a relatively
rare model considering the 100s produced by Lotus and Titan.
Recent Competition History
The car has only completed one race since a complete restoration.
