Hi Racers anbd history buffs,
I'm trying to trace the history of my Lotus 22 which was sold by a fellow in SACRAMENTO, California in the mid 70's to Mr GERALD McCABE, who subsequently sold it to Australian, Spencer Bates in 1982.
We understand the car was raced as a FC car in the 70's. It is quite distinctive in that it has an IAN RABY (RACING) LTD. (Empire Cars) chassis plate bearing the scratched (not punched) chassis number 22-FL-7 It is believed to have some connection to the late Jo Siffert.
Any help would be most appreciated.
The car is indergoing final assembly after a long restoration.
