In 1980 Ben Huisman, team principal of Racing Team Holland and owner of Remako Paper was quick to realize the potential of the young Cor Euser and Jaap van Silfhout. A successful test in the UK convinced Ben to facilitate the purchase of two Royale RP29’s on the condition that they would run the Benelux and European championships arranging their own transportation and maintenance.

Jaap van Silfhout recalls that during the test Cor was immediately quicker than the Royale works test driver and was asked by Royale’s Alan Cornock to slow down.

The RP29 was equipped with for that time revolutionary inboard push rod operated shock absorbers. Cor and Jaap quickly discovered that this allowed them to drive over the curbs without any problem and gain seconds in their lap times.

Cor took the car to victory in both the Benelux and European Championships and launched himself into a lifelong stellar race career.  Jaap went on to FF2000 and Sportscar Racing. Cor and Jaap still proudly possess their Photo albums and a scan is included with the car. 

Chassis RP29-19 went on to race into the nineties and was recently completely rebuilt to its original specification.

In 2020 we re-united Cor with his old racehorse for some fun at the Zolder track where he launched his career and became the European Champion of Formula Ford in 1981.  For a video of this re-unification see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tab1BfxI_EA

Early 2023 the engine was professionally rebuilt and has only covered 5 races since.

The car is absolutely ready to race.
