Truly a race ready Chevron
Description:
Raced from 1986 to 2012 by Joel Finn this car has strong record of success, even beating a Porsche 935 at Lime Rock- History: According to Paul Owen, Chevron historian and former director of the company, B21-31 was converted to a B23 and as B23-3 was sold to Italian Eris Tondelli in Fbruary, 1973 along with six other BT23s. Tondelli supplied sports racers for a popular national series in Italy. Dick Leppla of Chevron Race Cars U.S.A. purchased the car from an Italian driver in the early 1980s and sold it to Joel Finn. Finn Raced the car competitively from 1986 to 2012 at tracks across the U.S. (Watkins Glen, Sebring, Road America, Laguna Seca, etc.) and Europe (Silverstone, Brands Hatch, etc.). Always a strong finisher, his 2007 victory in the car at Lime Rock was noted in the national press: "Watching Joel Finn in his 1972 Chevron B19 (sic) come from behind to overtake Californian Bruce Canepa's Porsche 935 in the final laps of the final race raised no complaints" (Auto Week, October 8,2007).
