1965 Brabham BT-15 Formula B - SOLD
This is now SOLD. Search for similar items.
Description:
This very pretty car was restored by a respected Brabham expert in 1990. It has been racing in U.S. Historics mostly as a Formula C car. It was upgraded to a Formula B with the installation of a 173 Bhp. 1600cc Ford pushrod. A Hewland Mk9 was completely rebuilt and fitted with the stronger Mk5 gears. The powerplant configuration uses the proper adapter to fit a twincam. The car shows some racing use but the restoration still looks great as the pictures show. It is supplied with 15 Mk5 gearsets. The car has been professionally maintained since restoration.
History
The BT15 model first apeared in 1965 as a Formula 3 car, drawing heavily from the BT14 Libre and BT16 F2. It is nearly identical to the later BT21 models. This car was imported by Fred Opert and raced in the SCCA for 5 or 6 years, then was stored until 1989. The car is accompanied by photos of it at Lime Rock in 1968.
