Description:

Due to medical issues and mounting bills, I'm forced into selling this car which was going to be my pet project. This project in not for the faint of heart, but in the right hands and restored to it's former glory will turn heads and be worth more than you'll put into the rebuild. The motor and gearbox alone are worth what I'm asking, but would sure hate to see the rest of the car "disposed" of. The car suffered right front end damage in a shunt back in 2001. It sat for a few years before I bought it. The front end forward of the dashboard had to be cut off. The rear of the car (engine, gearbox and suspension) was amazingly not damaged! The frame has been straightened and mounted to a chassis table via silicon bronze tack welds to hold everything in place while the new front was going to be grafted back on...that's where it stands at this point, and the chassis table will be included in the sale if the buyer desires it. A new roll bar was made to resemble the hoops of the day, the classic "hairpin" style. I have 2 new front lower arms (the upper rockers survived somehow), the front shocks (original to the car) have been disassembled and one needs a new shaft made. It needs a new water radiator/oil cooler (they're built into one shell) which Serck in England, the original manufacturer, still has the original drawings for and can still make it! A new oil tank also needs to be fabricated...I have all the drawings and dimensions. As a matter of fact, there is a ton of documentation and drawings that comes with car. I also have a perfect condition original fiberglass body, in British racing green gelcoat (the nose and driver cowl is a one piece unit). I even went so far as to contact Moto Lita in England, the steering wheel builders back in the 60's for Cooper and other manufacturers, to get an exact replica of the wheel that originally came with the car. So what remains is to finish restoring the frame, buy a few more parts from here and there, assemble, and have fun! Interested parties should should contact me for any other questions.

History

This T76 started out life as a back in 1965 as a F3 car. The T76 was the next generation after the T72, which a fellow named Jackie Stewart had pretty good success with. Before this particular T76 made it to the United States, a Lotus Twin cam was fitted into back of it, and was run by Greg Hodges in October of 1968 at Laguna Seca Raceway.Performance Data
