Description:


One of eight chassis built. #F2-65-06. Chasis #6 was a Cooper F-2 team chasis in 1965. The team was managed by Ken Tyrrel. The drivers for the team that year were Jacky Ickx, Jochen Rindt and occasionally, Jackie Stewart. The car was purchased in 1966 from the Cooper Car Factory by Tom Wingett and raced in southern California, mainly Riverside, in various classes from F-B to F-2, with motors from BMC, BMW, and Chevrolet. In 1970, the car was sold to Wayne Douclet, who raced the car in the Phoenix area for a time. In 1995, Michael Carter purchased the car and began a two-year restoration. Michael Carter still owns the car and has raced it at the 2006 Monterey Historic Automobile Races, Steamboat multiple years, and other vintage races over the last decade. The car still has many original pieces. The bodywork (including all four corners), steering wheel, and magnesium wheels from 1965. Original seat recovered. Rebuilt (Armstrong) shock absorbers from 1965.
