1963 Elva Courier Mk 3 - SOLD

Description:
This 1963 Elva Courier MK3 was sold new in the UK and was used as a street car in Kansas until 1994. It was converted and prepped for vintage racing by noted Elva specialist Butch Gilbert in 1996 and has since been campaigned in HSR and SOVREN historic events. Power is from a race- prepped 1800cc four paired with a close-ratio 4-speed manual gearbox and limited-slip differential, while additional equipment includes a custom roll cage and a Fuel Safe cell. Unique to this vehicle is Butch built it so the front and rear clips can be completely removed.
History
Was sold in 1963 by WJ Last (British Elva dealer) to local guy in Alersoke, Gosport UK. It changed hands once in the UK before being imported to the states. From there it appears to be owned by two people in MA and Ohio before ending up in Kansas. From Kansas it was acquired by Bud Bourassa (Scottsdale) where Bud commissioned Butch to completely build the car for vintage racing. I have a binder full of receipts and correspondence between Bud and Butch. Bud spared no expense getting this car done.
