Description:

An engine restoration was done in 1987, the car placed 1st and 3rd in the last two National races in which it completed in 1987. Subsequent to 1988 the car has been in storage; recently brand new dual Weber side draft carburetors have been installed and it still sounds very strong. The Chassis was evidently the first one built in the year 1978, as it displays # 1 on the serial number tag, it is straight and never been wrecked. The engine runs great and this car is very competitive. With some minor mechanical finalization, this car is race ready. The car comes with two fiberglass body styles, short track and fast track (or oval). There are many spares included in the offering price.


History

The First Lola Chassis ever made for water cooled Super Vee competition makes this car historically significant! According to a previous owner, this is car was driven by Herm Johnson in the 1978 National Super Vee Drivers Championship where he placed 3rd in the championship, in seven races there were 3 1st place finishes. However, I have no paper trail available to support this. In 1987 the Lola placed 1st at the Denver National and placed 3rd at a Road America National competing in the FC class.
