Description:

This Elan Sprint was imported from England by current owner. Upgrades: new dash, sliding spline rear suspension (replacing donuts), new Lotus factory backbone chassis (triple galvanized), new carpet, Big Valve Lotus engine (126 hp), Dellorto carburetors, new brake servo. All Elans are 36 to 46 years old, depending on year of manufacture. Thus, their chassis have suffered varying degrees of deterioration and it is very difficult to determine the extent of rusting etc without taking the body off the chassis. The deterioration occurs because Lotus only painted the chassis surface, until recently, where Lotus now galvanizes replacement chassis.
