Description:

This Lotus Elan SE has been a race car since at least 1972. It was restored 1999-2001 by Todd Gerstenberger. Subsequently it was completely gone through by Carl Thompson in 2014. It has been upgraded to 26R standards with upgraded CV joints, a dry sump engine built by Jay Ivey. It is completely ready to race! At the recent SVRA National Championships in November, 2016, I finished 6th overall and fourth in class out of 38 competitors. This a fast, beautifully prepared, turn key race car.


History

This Lotus 1967 SE was one of the last SEs built. I have all the original import info plus log books dating back to 1972. I have been told and have some evidence that Don Roberts, noted Cobra driver and race car builder won the SCCA championship Cp in the 1980s with this car

Competition History

6th over all, 4th in class at the SVRA National Championships in 2016. Probable SCCA Champiion with Don Roberts driving awaiting confirmation from Don.
