Description:

This very original car including original engine, gearbox, and body was restored in 1989.
It has only participated in 8 events since that time. The owner states that the only need of the car
would be a fire system and fresh tires.


History

There is non documented history of this car which is as follows; After being raced in England in the first
Formula Ford series, this car was raced in California by a doctor in the new SCCA (1969) Formula Ford class
and later, it was raced in the mid-west. In 1984 it was brought back to California.


Competition History

There are only eight events on this restoration. The two most notable events it has participated in are:
the 20th Anniversary of Formula Ford organized by the SCCA at Willow Springs in March of 1989 and; the
1995 Monterey Historic Automobile Races.

Engine

• original 1598cc non-uprated Ford Kent 1600E cross-flow.

Fuel System

• Fuel Safe fuel cell custom made to original configuration.

Oil/Water System

• original oil/water flow tubes have been capped off and replaced with aero-equip oil lines and Aluminium water flow tubes.
  
• abondonment of chassis flow tubes precludes oil contamination and pinhloe leaking of water.
  
• fve port dry-sump system, fully aero-quipped, with rear mounted tank and oil cooler.
  
• custom made high efficiency radiator(ice cube) without integral oil cooler.
  

Electrical System

• new Bosch distributor & Lucas sport coil.
  
• front mounted gel-cell battery.
  
• roll bar mounted on-off switch, Tilton super starter.
  

Body

• original 3 piece fibreglass nose, engine cover and under tray complete with early style 51A-engine cover(rare).

• original chassis built for Lotus by Arch Motors, stripped, primed and painted in medium Gray Imron.
