Description:
This is a well-known and feared competitor in Group 5 in U.S. Historics. Featuring a
Marcovicci-Wenz prepared 2 litre BMW, which it has run for almost 30 years, the car is a consistent
race winner. It has been professsionally prepared and developed since a Peter Denty restoration
in the mid 80s and has had the drivetrain systematically strengthened to accomodate the hefty
output of the BMW. With a complete go-through at the start of the '97 season the car
is a turn-key race winner.
History
Originally a Canadian Russell School car with a pushrod, it migrated to Germany in the late 60s
where it was fitted with the BMW and ultimately some pretty unusual bodywork. It earned it's keep
as a club racer there into the early 80s, at which point it was purchased by the current owner and
sent to Peter Denty for a complete restoration. Much if not all of the chassis was renewed at that
time and it remains in excellent condition. The car was brought to the U.S. and has been a consistent
front runner in the hands of a capable former professional driver who has insisted on the highest
levels of mechanical preparation.
Competition History
Numerous Group 5 wins and high placings in Enduros, including a 3rd at Sebring '97, behind a
962 and a GTP Lights car!
