Description:

This car was an old SCCA racecar that was campaigned in the Pacific Northwest in the 70's and 80's and later ran in the SPO class in the late 90's until 2002. It is a 1970 AMC Javelin all steel body with a fiberglass front bumper and composite front spoiler with an original Donohue fiberglass rear spoiler. This car has an original mildly prepared 6 litre (360 c.i.d.) iron V-8 with the Edelbrock R4B aluminum high-rise manifold with the AMC factory part number. Unusually this car also has power steering and vacuum assisted brakes which were sometimes desired for the shorter tracks of the area in which it raced. It has an original Borg-Warner V-series close ratio four speed transmission and 20 series rear with limited slip differential. The car has many of the FIA approved modifications for the Trans Am series cars such as the rear bulkhead strengthening crossmember as well as the exhaust tunnel cutouts. The car has the correct Kelsey-Hayes front disc brakes with the FIA approved rear discs from Girling. The interior has a full original roll cage with period Stewart-Warner gauges on an aluminum fabricated dash panel with upholstered door panels. The Momo seat and Simpson 5 point harness are new. The wheels are old Carroll Shelby alloys that measure 15x8.5. The paint and body are not concours but appropriate for the car and since this car was a race car most of its life the body is nearly rust free. the Javelin was campaigned twice last year with HSR organization and acheived one second in class at Sebring and two seconds and a third at Daytona also in class. The car has an HSR logbook.
