1964 Morris Mini Cooper S, Right hand dive This is a well known Mini Cooper S in the Midwest and has been a race car its whole life. Until two years ago it was raced on a regular basis with VSCDA and sometimes with CVAR. Now it is time for somebody else to enjoy this Mini Cooper. No expense has been spared keeping the car in tip top shape. The last time the engine was rebuilt was in 2004. After that the car has raced only twice. During the rebuild we changed synchro rings, Main/Rod bearings, cam shaft bearings, new oil pump, honed the cylinders and installed new Devis rings. The engine has straight cut drop gears, and the chassis has upgraded adjustable struts on ball joints, Spax adjustable shock absorbers and Hi-Lows. New front rotors and Hawk Blue brake pads. Rebuild the clutch master cylinder and replaced all the brake lines. We also put in a new steering rack and a quick shift kit. The car has a great cage, with plenty of side impact protection and driver safety. Also comes with a passengers seat. The harnesses are out of date, but we can install the old ones if so desired. ENGINE Based on a Metro block, 40 thousands over bore. Strap over center main cap. Center oil pick up. ARP hardware. Balanced rods, crank and rod bearing 10 over. Low drag slipper pistons. 12.4 CR. Ported Longman Head, 1.48 intake and 1.15 exhaust valves. Kent MD 296 camshaft. Weber 45 DCOE carburetor. Long intake manifold. Large bore headers, 1.87 ID. Oil cooler, Low oil pressure shut off switch, Accusump, Super two core radiator, Straight cut drop gears, Quick shift kit. Heavy duty clutch. CHASSIS Tandem master brake cylinder, new brake lines with Aeroquip flexible hoses. In car adjustable brake bias valve. Rear brakes: Aluminum Superfin with built in 1 inch spacer. Front & Rear suspension: Caster/camber adjustable Hi-Lows, Spax adjustable shocks, anti roll bar. Right now the car sits on “Minilite” style rims with Yokohama A008 tires. See spare list for race tires. SAFETY Welded in roll cage. Magnum race seat. Hard wired fire bottle with three nozzles (Drivers compartment, carburetor and fuel cell) plus hand held fire bottle. 5 point harness, Fuel Safe fuel cell. Battery on passenger side in sturdy box. Kill switches on R front fender and inside. Wink rearview mirror. Window net. ELECTRIC/INSTRUMENTS Volt meter. Stack tachometer with tell tale. Electric oil temp gage. Mechanical water temp and oil pressure. Low oil pressure light and low oil pressure shut off switch. Electric fuel pump. MSD adjustable rev limiter. MISCELLANEOUS One piece front body section. Glass fiber hood and boot lid Right hand drive car. VSCDA log book. Custom engine shipping crate GT5 wide fenders – not installed Extra wheels / tires (dry & rain) Car cover.
