1994 Toyota World Sports Racer Package. This car ran in the IMSA Professional Sports Car Racing Series for these cars from 1994 through 1998. In the late 90's up through 2007 it was raced in SCCA as a C Sports Racer in the Southeast. In 2008 it was moved over to Vintage racing with Historic Sports Car (HSR) in their very competitive Group 3 and Vintage Enduro Series. It now has an extensive 10 year race history with HSR. The car was built by Smart Performance, one of the three authorized constructors for the IMSA Series. It is an early production model with twin 40 DCOE Weber Carbs and analog gauges. It has Gen 2 body work and all of the safety and performance updates that were approved by the series. The car came with the Toyota Twin Cam 4 Valve detuned Formula Atlantic engine developing 145 HP with a 12.5 to compression ratio. It is a mid-engine car and has a 5 speed transmission. Pedals, steering column and shifter are all adjustable so car will up 6ft 6in driver. Onboard fire system bottle, foam in the fuel cell and Weber carbs were all replaced in 2011. I have tried to keep this car all original. The only real changes from initial production are the addition of braided fuel lines, upgraded water hoses and dash mounted shift light. Only 50 cars were built initially for the US market and this is one of the best examples of an original car available. It has a current HSR Log Book #A-0589 and a current HSR Annual Tech sticker which is good through April 2016. The last race was the HSR event at Sebring in December 2015. The car is race ready and the spares are packaged and ready for transport. My preference is to sell the entire package complete. That would include race car, trailer, extensive spares (see attached list), pit bike and all tools and equipment.


History

Car ran in IMSA Pro Sports Car Racing from 1994 to 1998. From 1999 up through 2007 it was used primarily in SCCA Club Racing in the Southeast. In 2008 #44 began its vintage career in Historic Sports Car Racing where it has established an extensive history the last 10 years. Can be raced in SCCA, NASA, HSR, SVRA, PBOC and VDCA.
