History

In 1969 the Italian racing concern Tecno, formed by the Pederzani brothers, was basking in their
second year of domination of European F3. The compact cars produced by the firm were lineal successors
to the original product offerings from the firm in the early 60s, a line of racing karts. Tecno
had soon dominated European kart racing and expanded first into an F4 car and in 1966 produced the first
F3 car. A 1967 F3 design was followed by a 1968 F2 design which was adapted for F3 from 1968 thru 1970.
The F2 adapted F3 design proved utterly dominant, winning the European championship in 1968 and 1969 at
the hands of drivers like Ronnie Peterson, Francois Cevert, and Reine Wissell. Cevert also scored
Tecno's first F2 win in 1969.
