History

DB5 Chassis# 001 was sold new from the factory to Swift board member Peter Zarcades as the very first DB5, with a unique polished tub as used in factory promotional materials. It was initially piloted by Bill Fickling during Swift's shakedown testing at Willow Springs and used to set the baseline for all DB5s thereafter. Subsequent to this rollout, the car was raced and extensively developed in Pinto and later Cosworth guise with great success by Zarcades and Lenny Gay, who maintained the car until 2004. Seduced by my exposure to Zarcades' rigorous and highly experimental program during their ACRL seasons together with Team Las Vegas, the current owner purchased chassis #001 in 2004, returned the car to Pinto configuration, and continued its development. The car comes complete with all logbooks, running records from every single lap turned, chassis torsion test results, etc - 17 books in all which document EVERY moment this car has ever been on the track: from its 1990 shakedown through the 2007 season. Between these 17 year bookends lie a myriad of Pro and Club race wins, lap records, and championships…and an almost endless list of proprietary developments: extended wheelbase, contemporary suspension geometry, structural enhancements, and innovative aerodynamic treatments.
