Description:
Very Rare early Nissan Comp long gearbox perfect for the accurate period correct restoration of a 1970, 1971 Datsun Z or 510 racecar. Flange output, Monkey motion shift mechanism. As seen on page 149 in How to Modify your Datsun by H.P. Books. Steel Syncro Porsche style gears. Best parts selected from two gearboxes, gears and many internals micro polished, which testing has shown fifteen degree temp reduction in gearboxs. Friction is from heat, so more HP to the rear wheels. Welded idler shaft gears. In process of fresh rebuild so could negotiate selling dissasembled if you would rather have your trans expert assemble if you catch me before back together. Many parts appear updated from Roadster box design, so I suspect late Roadster design or upgrades for Comp box. Ten pounds lighter than later Z boxes which is alway key for racing. Other rare Nissan Comp boxes may be available for Z or Roadster, inquire.
History
Rebuilt from a collection of Race transmissios from Roadster and 510's, so not run with big HP and probalby not too many hours on parts. I have heard stories these were only sold as a complete box, and they were only sold as a kit, so with history being 37 years ago, I do not know, but they are clearly very rare as about half the sources say they did not exist.
