In 2009, GM authorized Callaway Competition (Germany) to construct Corvette race cars for the FIA GT4 series in Europe. Corvette factory executives approved the construction of five special “Experimental VIN” cars to be built on the Bowling Green, KY assembly line. Callaway Competition (Germany) converted these five C6 Corvettes into FIA GT4 homologated race cars under exclusive GM authority.

These five Callaway C6 Corvettes were the first Experimental VIN race cars authorized by GM since the five 1963 Grand Sport Corvettes were produced. This car is the last of the five (15EX-19EX) GT4 Corvettes built and the last “three pedal” manual Corvette built by GM specifically for racing.

“19EX” ran in the 2009 FIA GT4 European Cup season including at the Spa-Francorchamps, Zolder, and Oschersleben races, among others. In 2010, 19EX was converted to endurance racing specs which included GT3 bodywork and paddle shift transmission among other upgrades. This car, #19EX is one of the most successful endurance racing Corvettes ever authorized for construction by GM. EX19 secured eight endurance race class wins and 14 podiums over four years (2010-2013). The car was imported back into the US in the summer of 2022 and now resides in Sebring, FL.
