Built by Rennmax , a well known and respected Australian manufacture and has raced continuously since 1965 with success in period and currently in historics.  Comes with the highest level of documentation from Motor Sports Australia (FIA affiliated) with an Historic Log Book plus a Certificate of Description.

The current owner / driver is a past Australian national Formula Ford champion who is respected for his meticulous and talented preparation with car set up. In his ownership “money no object” has been the mantra to enable a front running car. Currently holds class lap records at most circuits plus a recent outright win in the wet at Sydneys Motor Sport Park. Its last meeting at Historic Phillip Island in 2025 resulted in a class win with a lap time of 1:47.5572. This is the only event since a comprehensive scheduled engine rebuild. The Hewland 5 speed gearbox was also recently subjected to a routine overhaul.

Perhaps the jewel of this car is the Lotus Ford Twin Cam 1600cc engine. Built by Superior Automotive (Sydney) under the guidance of Peter Molloy (deceased) it enjoys ALL new components from the sump to the stainless steel extractors apart from the reconditioned Italian 48mm Webers. Valves are titanium with a spare set included. Clutch is a twin plate Tilton. Dyno sheets provided highlighting HP of 222 at the flywheel. Driveability is easy with a torque / power range from 4500 to 9200 rpm. As mentioned above, its first rebuild has just been done after 1500km use and no major issues found apart from one camshaft having a minor crack and this was replaced with a new one.

The current owner has updated / replaced the following. All new suspension for safety (photo shows these prior to electroless nickel plating), new Koni adjustable shocks with Eibach springs, lighter body work, new paint, lightweight lithium battery with dedicated charger, aluminium water radiator, larger oil cooler, pre heater for oil, a new set of wider wheels 7” and 8” with Hoosier tyres (used once), new safety belts valid up to 2030.

Supplied with car are 3 sets of wheels, 1 set 7” & 8” with Hoosiers tyres and two sets of 5” & 6” wheels with Avon Formula Ford tyres. All tyres have plenty of life remaining. Spare set of new titanium engine valves, spare complete set of suspension, 12 additional Hewland gears in a dedicated gear case.

As I live in Sydney it may seem daunting to an overseas buyer but it is not. I have past experience, all hassle free, having sold an Elfin Mono via this web site to Texas in 2017 plus an ex Alan Jones March Formula Atlantic to England more recently. Shipping costs in a dedicated 20’ container to UK about 4,000 pounds, to USA about US$5,200 to west coast to US$7,000 east coast.
