This is a truly historic B sedan that has been a race car since new. The first owner took delivery in Yakima WA of a new 1970 Datsun 510 sedan and prepared it into a B sedan race car. It has been raced in SCCA in various classes over the years and has been retired, parked, restored and re-entered in various race groups, most recently vintage B sedan. The car has raced in its current or similar livery since the early 1970s. Full mechanical race prep by T Zero in Seattle are in the late 2000 teens. I purchased the car in early 2023. This very tidy race car is a very competitive example with a freshly built Rebello engine with only 3 hours since build in Feb 2025. Dave used all the most recent race components to extract 236 hp and 184 lbs/ft of torque from the L 18. All new oil lines were installed with the new engine. Elite dog ring 5 speed gearbox serviced by Troy Ermish 2024. New CV joints 2024. Sperical bearing upgrade to front and rear suspention 2024. Currently running a 4:38 OS Giken limited slip rear, with spare 4:10 and 3:90 included. 3 sets of Libra style wheels included. Belts are current. At age 77 I have run with CSRG and HMSA for 20 years and have turned 1:48 at Laguna Seca and 1:58 at Sears Point, but the car has way more in it than I can extract. A local younger driver easily turned 1:55 at Sears within 2 laps of a quick trial run. The car has been invited into the HBC historic sedan series, which is limited to truly historic sedans. This is not a recently built up old discarded street car and has true racing history. I can supply old photos and race result sheets. Wonderful car but I just need to move on.
