Rare, one of only two 1946 Offy engines produced for Indy

Description:

Rare 1946 Offy engine: 90 c.i. Only 2 of these Offys were produced that year and both for Lou Fagoel's "Twin Coach Special" Indy car. Super charged, splined front crankshaft with Roots blower.

  • History: In 1946 Lou Fagoel worked with Offy to develop two 90 c.i. engines for his Indy car. Paul Russo drove Fagoel's car, but crashed on the 17th lap. My father bought the engine from Fagoel in the late 1950s and ran it on the Bonneville Salt Flats a few times. It has been in storage since that time. There were only two of these engines produced that year.
