2005 Australia-US Healey Challenge - 1st in Class (100-4 Race Modified), 4 wheel disc brakes, LeMans 1 3/4" carbs, aluminum bonnet with 4 rows of louvres, lightened flywheel, ATL fuel cell, Kirkey high back aluminum race seat, 5 point harness, electric tachometer, Brooklands style windscreen,5 blade plastic fan, Dennis Welch alternator&pulley, remote oil cooler&modern filter, aeroquip front brake lines, silicone brake fluid, dual brake fluid reservoir, lowered front suspension, 7/8" rally anti-roll bar on front suspension, toe-eyes on front and rear. Mallory dual point ignition, mechanical clutch, overdrive on 3rd & 4th gears. Very desireable 3.54:1 rearend ratio (limited slip) for high top end speed. Also have ring/pinions/housings for the 3.90 and 4.10 rear ends. 4 wheel disc brakes (Healey 3000). This is a modification made in Texas in the early 1960's when it was raced by the Rebel Racing Team out of Sequin, Texas. This set-up, as it was done during "period", has been allowed by SVRA as authentic. It stops incredibly well - late braking is easy! The engine is prepped in LeMans style, blueprinted and balanced, but in 1950's mechanicals. The crank has NOT been nitrited, the head is NOT aluminum - it IS relieved and ported. Custom tuned headers exit by driver's door in front of rear wheels (sounds incredible). Has not been campaigned for 5 years. Did pull 5200 rpm easily-but that was the max for the 1950's era cars. Fuel cell foam should be renewed. 1997 Race Trailer-see photo-dual axle with electric brakes, spare tire&wheel, two storage boxes with 2 shelves each, 2 large tote boxes for supplies, 3 fuel cans (5 gallons each), 10,000lb ratchet tie-down straps, 4 jack stands, air tank, has 2 vertical stanchions on tongue to hold 1 extra set of wheels and tires. Draw-Tite weight distributing hitch system with spring bars (550lb max tongue weight), 2 3/16" ball. With a GMC Envoy the trailer towed at (and above) the speed limit with ease and stability. The electric brakes allow smooth, safer stopping and less wear on your tow vehicle. Huge list of extra parts-everything needed to go racing-3 pages on an excel spreadsheet - available by email to interested buyers. This includes an extra radiator, extra transmission, 3 engine blocks, 4 cast iron heads, 1 Norman deLaycock overdrive, 2 original flywheels, original windscreen with all hardware (this was taken off for racing to reduce car weight),rebuilt & unused lever action shock absorbers, set of 48 spoke painted wire wheels with Dunlop Gold Cup (6.00x15) tires mounted (for storage of the car between races). Also available 1 pair of Simpson High Top racing shoes, size 9 1/2, used less than 5 races. More photos available of engine, cockpit, dash and fuel cell by email to serious buyers. Aluminum front & rear shrouds, Steel Bonnet, Steel Left & Right front wings, Steel Left & Right rear wings, Steel Left & Right Doors. Missing the boot lid. All the steel panels have rust on them, will need sanding & a bit of welding repair (photos available). The Aluminum shrouds are in reasonably good shape, have some bondo over old dents which will need to be removed, but they can be worked back into form. These were salvaged off a second body in 1979 when I bought the car in Texas. They've been stored inside ever since. Many photos available by email to serious buyers. These parts if bought from Moss Motors or Victoria British in new condition (if available) would cost over $11,000.
