Description:
Winston Cup purpose built road course car (chassis 018) purchased directly from Dale Earnhardt Inc. The #3 livery was raced by Dale Earnhardt Jr. in 2002 as a tribute to Dale Earnhardt Sr. after his death in 2001. This now marks the second of three times that Dale Jr has driven the #3 since his father's death. Dale Jr. drove the #3 to victory in July at Daytona honoring the induction of Dale Sr. into the Nascar Hall of Fame. Of the three cars this is the only one in private hands. This car was raced in 1999 at Watkins Glen by Steve Park with the #1 Pennzoil livery and finished 12th. The car was also the back up road course at Watkins Glen in 2000 when Steve Park scored his first win. This car was then transformed by DEI into its current Dale Earnhardt Jr. livery. The car is fully documented by DEI with all notes and paperwork from build to test and race. This car was photographed and appeared on the commemorative admission ticket, collectable Dale Jr. photo card, and then placed on display at Dale Earnhardt Inc. The car has a fresh Chevrolet SB2 Nextel Cup motor, Tex T101 road course transmission, and the best of everything. The car is a one of a kind and in museum quality ready for display in an elite collection, Historic Stock Car Racing, or club track days. This car was constructed and raced when Dale Earnhardt was running DEI. The dash plate has been signed by Dale Jr. and Richard Childress. Sale includes the Nilla Wafer / Nutter Butter fire suit. This incredible piece of Nascar history has been in a private collection for the last eight years. Will consider trades/Offers Motivated seller
