Description:
This car has undergone a recent frame up restoration. I features a fresh Ford junior motor and
fresh Hewland. In excellent condition overall.
History
The Mk3 was Lola's first mid engine layout. A very futuristic design for 1961, the car was one
of the first to feature a lie-down driver's position and central fuel tank. This was also the first car
to be designed from scratch for dry sump lubrication. Another first is the use of a VW gearbox with internals
designed by Hewland, the prototype for the standard racing transaxle of the next 4 decades. The chassis
was designed so that everything behind the firewall can be unbolted as a unit, power unit, final drive, and
rear suspension.
