Car was purchased from the estate of the second owner who had the car converted from a street car to a vintage SCCA log booked race car sometime in the early 1990â€™s. Sponsored by the Fort Worth Zoo, the car was originally a chocolate metallic brown and robins egg blue when purchased. The car spent most of its life up until purchase in the Fort Worth, Texas area and was very active in the vintage racing associations in that area, I have documentation of the cars attendance at many of these types of events. Upon purchase of the car, it was completely gone over and a detailed restoration proceeded taking over a year to complete, the restoration included replacing ALL the brakes components, shocks, new fuel cell, fuel lines and electric fuel pump, new fuel pressure regulator, new billet electronic distributor, rev limiter, new mocal oil cooler with braided lines, spark plugs, cap/rotor, plug wires, coil, custom fabricated exhaust system and rear grill assembly, custom side windows to keep the car mostly water tight which are removed thru zeus fittings, new belts and many other new parts. Restorer also disassembled and inspected all head and block components and replaced as needed then resealed the engine. The carburetors were completely rebuild by a professional shop in Jacksonville, Fl. On the body of the car, it was built as tribute to the Europa race cars which ran under the livery of the â€œ Gold Leaf â€œ racing team, this included installing custom made spoilers on front and rear, naca ducts on the side B pillars, head light covers, and brand new two tone red/white paint scheme. The car was decaled with vintage correct decals. The car has been lightly used as a track car only and performed beautifully, but could be easily be a competitive vintage race car. This is a fun car for the Lotus fan who would like track days or to vintage race on a budget. The interior of the car has been covered in aircraft grade aluminium panels, it has full roll cage protection and still has two seats installed with five point safety harness and a fire suppression system. This car could not be re-created or built for near the price being asked, you will be able to start the car and race it the weekend you get it. You will not be disappointed.
