1961 Lotus Type 20B Formula Junior - SOLD

Description:
This Lotus 20 was imported from New Zealand in 1990, having been the object of a complete restoration.
The car had been running with a 1.5 litre 120E and was returned to Junior specifcation with a MWE-prepared
1100. The gearbox was completely redone by Taylor Race Engineering. The brake system was updated to
disks all around, inboard at the rear. The original Lotus 20 rear suspension has been retained.
The car is accompanied by an extensive spares package including a 1500cc. 120E engine and a spare
1100cc. block. Also included with the car is a custom, enclosed, lightweight trailer.
This trailer is low profile, has suspension dampers, and surge brakes. It is pictured in one of the photos.
History
The car was purchased from Graeham Lawrence in New Zealend by Chris Read in the early 1970s
as a rolling chassis. It has campaigned as a 1.5 litre car in the Gold Star Formula Series. It was
subsequently raced by Read in the South Island in Sports Car Club events and subsequently in Historic
and Classic events until it's sale to the U.S. in 1990.
Competition History
The car has raced U.S. Historics with the SVRA and VSCDA in the Midwest.
