This is now SOLD. Search for similar items.
Description:
Car is completely restored and has only a few shakedown races on it. The current engine has only one event. Merlyn's are one of the best performing and best looking VFF's you can buy. Better yet all the parts are available new from Merlyn/CRD through distributors such as Cap Chenoweth's Sunworks in Vermont USA. New items on this car are extensive: Rear Uprights, all suspension links, all bolts are AN, all bearings, all plumbing. Half-shafts, donuts, master-cylinders, body, header are also all new. Belts are Simpson 6pt. Rebuilt items are the brake calipers, steering rack, engine and gearbox. New SPA fire system. Restoration assistance was carried out in part by; GMT, Danbury CT and Stonebridge Sports Cars, Bethel CT. The only update to complete this car would be an upgraded modern fuel cell.
History
As the 5th owner the car was traced to the Detroit area SCCA where it was run by the 2nd owner, Dennis Moothart. It moved to Canada and it's 3rd owner Bill Patrick in Windsor Ontario. Around 1986 it was imported back and run with the RCCA with Eric Colesante. I purchased it in 1996 and slow restoration had the car completed about 2 years ago. The car has seen very little use.
