1964 Merlyn MK7 Project - SOLD
This is now SOLD. Search for similar items.
Description:
This car was purchased 3 years ago from Britain West Motorsports in Brantford, Ontario, Canada, previous owner was Mark Samiec (USA). The intention was to fuly restore this classic race car, due to circumstances beyond my control this vehicle must be sold with a minimum amount of restoration done. The chassis has been partially done. All other parts are loose in boxes.Chassis does not appear to ever have had the rocker suspension with inboard springs, which was not very successful. In the research I have done I can find that this was modified on some of the chassis to make the car more competitive.
History
Built in 1964 by Colchester Racing Developments Ltd., in Essex, England, this is a Merlyn Mk7 Formula 2/3 Junior Chassis #67R. This car was made famous by David Hobbs and Chris Irwin. I have seen a document in the past that confirmed Chris Irwin raced this chassis, I am trying to find it again to support this. Only 11 Mk7's were made. Some had the front suspension modified from it's original rocker suspension with inboard springs as is this chassis to make it more competitive.Performance Data
