Restored a few years ago, this car is well known in the FIA sanctioned Thoroughbred Grand Prix (TGP) championship where
it has been raced successfully for a few years.
Originally the Tyrrell development car, it has a well documented history and has got current FIA papers.
Developped and mainained regardless of cost, this car has been a front runner with regular top 6 placings in the championship,
amongst more modern machinery.
It is presented with a mountain of spares and represents a very attractive and competitive package to anyone interested in
joining the very successful Historic Formula One circle.
The car is currently undergoing a winter rebuild and will be supplied race ready with a renewed comprehensive crack test
certificates of all suspension parts.


History

The 009 was the car used by Tyrrell during the 1979 Formula 1 season.
Designed by Maurice Philippe, it was the first ever ground effect Tyrrell with Lotus 79 lines.
It finished 5th in the 1979 Constructor's Championship, driven by Didier Pironi (number 3) and Jean-Pierre Jarier (number 4).
The best placings of the season were third at Zolder for Pironi driving chassis no. 1 as well as third at the US Grand Prix. Jarier
finished third at the South African Grand Prix and third at the British Grand Prix.



Competition History

Recent results include a 2nd overall placing as well as a class win in the TGP series.

Fuel System

  • 2 sets of magnesium wheels, one set of BBS aluminium wheels with Avon control tyres
  • 575 kg, the car has been developed to be on the weight limit for 1979 F1-cars
