Description:
As I am trying to fund my new business, my Formula B, (completely restored Ensign with one race on it), has to go, and either the Martini MK9 Formula 3 or this Alpine has to go too.( the Martini and Ensign are also advertised on these pages) The Alpine has been my favorite race car for 4 years now. I restored the car to the 1969 factory preparation specs, and tried to maintain as much of the originality of the Berlintte. For example I had a custom fuelcell made with the original gas tank. The mechanical side of the car is excellent, litteraly no expense spared. The gearbox is custom build by Tony Dalmolin in France, and the engine was build by the #1 specialist in North America Alpine America, near Montreal. The wheels are almost New Braids lightweight wheels, brakes are upgraded to the first "Big brake" set-up with a 21 mm master cylinder. The drivers seat is custom build, and the passengers seat is an original Mod' Plastia rally seat The only reason I state this cars condition as very good, is that the paint has blistered somewhat ( and cracked) on the drivers door. A picture will be added in the next two weeks. Otherwise the paint suffers from normal glassfber cracks and some minor chips. Touch up paint comes with the car. The car is fully equiped with "aeroquip" hoses and connectors.A big Accusump is installed. Also to stay on the safe side I installed a low oil pressure engine shut off system, and a low coolant pressure warning light. For racing in the rain purposes a working blower on the windscreen is in the car. This is NOT a luxury. ****A Berlinette Alpine is not suited for big and/or tall drivers. I am 6 foot, and that is about the max that will fit in the car.****
History
The car has some not confirmed rally history in Spain. It was obviously build to be rallied, as the car was equiped from the factory with a central mounted hydraulic hand brake. I raced the car during the last 4 years with VSCDA.
Competition History
I seldom run the car with the rev limiter set at 7000 RPM. Usually I run it at 6800 max. That tells yo I am not a racer, so results are no refference. In general I run lap timesand race in the middle of the pack.
