Description:
86 Peugeot 505 STI, was owned by rallyist/roadracer Jon Woodner, and built by Peter Farrell. Car was factory-sponsored in 1986 and 1987, and raced by Janet Guthrie, Woodner, Farrell, and Steve Potter. This is one of two cars built to identical specifications, using pre-production cars with STI-spec drivetrains, but with Taxi interiors, and special VIN numbers. This car was raced in SCCA Escort, and IMSA Firehawk. Car was sold to Arlo Cota, who raced it in IMSA for several years. Mr. Cota still owns the other team car, using it for hill climbs. Car was sold to the owner of Moto-Delta in Chicage, who raced it for a couple of seasons. It then went to another owner, who Vintage raced it for several seasons. Car runs well, is very powerful, with ECM controlling boost to levels "higher than stock". Engine was freshened by the last owner, and seems to be strong. There is minor smoking at idle, that seems to go away at speed. Boost gauge not working, but boost is! Paint is fair, but decals are faded, and the car could stand to be refurbished cosmetically. The only rust on the car is shown in the photo of the left rear door. 39,000 miles. E-mail for more info, history, and photos of the car in action.
