Description:
1959 Jocko Special - Formula Junior Built by Jocko Maggiocomo, Driven by Jim Haynes; this American built Front-Engine Formula Junior is regarded as “one of the most successful American backyard FJ specials ever built.” The Jocko’s first formal competition was during the 1960 Sebring feature race where it was driven to an 8th place finish (running as high as 2nd). The Jocko Special has an excellent history: • Jim Haynes (1959 F3 Champ) • Sam Posey’s 1st race car • Featured: ‘Vintage American Road Racing Cars 1950-1970.’ The car comes complete with an extensive spares collection and some memorabilia. To date, this FJr has been successfully campaigned in both the VSCCA and VRG throughout Northeast track venues since 2001 – a crowd favorite at the PVGP. This FJr would be welcome at ANY vintage venue throughout the world and with 2008 being the 50th Anniversary of Formula Juniors, do not hesitate to own this unique piece of vintage machinery.
