Description:
HOLIDAY SPECIAL! Race Car is Located in CALIFORNIA, NOT TEXAS, misprint. MOTIVATED ***Price Reduced*** Own a piece of history. 1 of 12 1991 identically prepared SCCA Geo Storm GSI Celebrity All-Star Racing Team race cars. Celebrity drivers included: Donny Osmond, Sam Kinnison, Dennis Franz, Leeza Gibbons, and Dallas Cowboy's running back Tony Dorsett. This is car #6 which was driven by Tony Dorsett in the Dallas Grand Prix. This Storm is the only surviving race car of the twelve that were prepared for the Celebrity All-Star racing series. Personally acquired from Legendary Texas Corvette race car driver Delmo Johnson's collection. Delmo and close friend and another Texas legendary car builder, driver Carrol Shelby both competed against each other during their era, Delmo with his Corvettes and Carrol with his Cobra's. The Storm has always been covered and garaged kept. As a retired U.S. Marine helicopter mechanic and car mechanic, I have personally installed many new custom upgrades and racing modifications since purchasing in 2009; Isuzuperformance steel braided front and rear brake lines, Isuzuperformance CAI (Cold Air Intake) with K&N cone filter, Isuzuperformance aluminum billet oil filler cap, Four NEW brake rotors and Hawk brake pads (F&R), KYB GR2 front struts, RTR short shifter, RTR modded gold cap rear hubs, RTR G11 3/8" phenolic intake & throttle body spacers, 1.8L large port intake, Upper 1.8L intake and Isuzu valve cover painted Type C engine factory works blue, 1.8L DOHC hydraulic cams; Lift Lobe Height 38.89mm, Lift/Duration 244/244, Intake Open/Close 7 BTDC/57 ABDC, Exhaust Open/Close 58 BBDC/6 ATDC compared to the OE 1.6L solid lifter cams; Lift Lobe Height 38.18mm, Lift/Duration 246/246, Intake Open/Close 16 BTDC/50 ABDC, Exhaust Open/Close 54 BBDC/12 ATDC, Beru spark plugs, 9.5mm Firebraid plug wires, MSD Blaster coil, Accel Ignition Module, A/C delete, cold air brake disc ducting, custom rear strut bar, Impulse XS Lotus tuned 16.5 mm rear sway bar, Energy Suspension polyurethane sway bar bushings, 4 in to 1 collector header, and a 2.5" mandrel bent exhaust w/resonator with curved side-bottom dump tip shortened prior to the rear wheels. Mobil 1 synthetic in the crank case and a Mobil 1 oil filter. SCCA mandated 5 point racing harness, emergency fuel and battery shutoff, roll cage, and halon fire extinguishing system. The Geo Storm GSI drag coefficiency is .31 and is very slick through the air. Other cars in comparison are: .31 Audi S4 MK1 .31 Audi RS6 .31 Audi B7 RS4 .31 BMW M6 .31 Callaway C12 .31 Ferrari 360 Challenge Stradale .31 Mercedes-Benz CLK55 00 .31 Mercedes-Benz SL55 AMG .31 Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG .31 Porsche 996 GT2 MK1 .31 TechArt GT Street .31 Volkswagen R32 MK1 .31 Volkswagen Golf GTI 02. Skid pad test figures ranged from 0.81g - 0.85g, meeting or exceeding the Mazda RX7. Road and track compared 10 sport compact cars that year of which the Storm had the highest skid pad rating of 0.85g. The Storm also was second quickest through the slalom and stopped shorter from 80mph than many highly respected sports cars. The Japanese Isuzu 1.6L engine runs up to a redline of 7600rpm's and the Storm weighs just over 2300lbs, with additional weight reduction to meet other race classes, the Storm is very competitive. I have many pictures available and can also be seen on: www.cardomain/ride/3817212/1991-geo-storm. Nominated for the week of 6/26/11 for "Showoff Of The Week" SOTW on CarDomain.com I have many supporting documents with matching VIN which I can email to interested buyers.
