The original MkIII has been an outstanding customer chassis, its resume speaks for itself: 41 victories in 87 starts. The beauty of that chassis was its simplicity, a steel tube frame with a push-rod V8 clothed in high downforce bodywork. The MkIIIC continues on that theme, simplicity & with the addition of carbon fiber the overall stiffness of the chassis is increased by 40%. The MkIIIC's suspension is unique for its "Riley Rocker" arrangement of the spring and damper. Typically the spring/damper are combined into one unit. The Riley Rocker splits the two units which makes adjustments easier (allowing for pit lane adjustability) as well as the giving the engineer the ability to make adjustments to one that does not effect the other.
