This 1975 Datsun 280Z started life as a C-Production car in California. The original owner was Roger Edsinger. After much success as a C-Production car it was built into a GT-2 car for the then new SCCA class. The car is a full tube car with only the steel roof and stock windshield being retained. All panels were changed to fiberglass. The engine was changed to a full dry sump and moved rearward and down per SCCA rules. The front suspension has double wishbone design with Penske shocks and adjustable sway bars. The rear suspension is a tubular design Chapman Strut from Frank Hansowitz IMSA GTU car. New double adjustable Konis were installed in 2008. The rear sway bar is also adjustable. The chassis uses square and round tubes. All interior panels and body work are Dzus retained and the quality and engineering throughout the car is excellent. The car won SCCA National races when owned by Roger Edsinger. The second owner was Bob Glass of California. He set track records at Willow Springs (1:27) and PIR with the car. He also won National GT-2 races. David Dutko purchased the car in 1996 and I purchased it in 2004. The car has multiple wins at Waterford Hills, Gratten, Mid-Ohio, Road America, Watkins Glen, Sebring and Moroso. The car has completed and is legal in SCCA GT-2,HSR, VRG, and SVRA as a group 10 GTU. The car was also featured in an article comparing it side by side with Brad Frisselle's GTU Championship winning Z.
