This is a flag winner. All other WSR's have either weber 40's or they have fuel injected, 16 valve 80's era MR2 motors (4age engine). I had the stock WSR engine with Weber's - but it couldn't keep up with F2000's and C's and D's. I ended up installing a 90's era (10 years newer technology) engine Ae111 - it was Toyota's stock racing engine with a Yamaha designed 20 valve head, fuel injection and VVT. Lighter internals, high compression pistons, made to rev at 9K+ stock! This car gets 190 HP at the wheels with the stock ECU! If you installed a programmable ECU - you'd get another 20HP. Best part, when you wear down the top and/or bottom half .. you buy a long block imported from Japan for $600 bucks! No more spending $5-$6K on 4age engine rebuilds .. to get 160HP! The block is the same as far as pickup points and it mates with all the C-## transmissions made in the 80s and 90s. History

About 114 WSR's were made in Vista California in the 90s - they used the 80's era Toyota Drive Trains (MR2 engine, trasmission, transaxles, hubs, calipers) About 40 went to Costa Rica for a series. They are well made - and were built so that normal size people could fit comfortably in them! We had racers that were 6'6"! Guys with 48" Chest. These cars are comfortable.
