Description:

Shadow DN9-B ex works Formula One Test and Qualifying car. Driven by Elio de Angelis and Jan Lammers. Bought directly from Don Nichols of Shadow cars. Restored by Phil Schmidt. Fitted with an original long stroke Ford Cosworth DFV -V8 3.0 ltr. engine with 7 hours after complete rebuild by Bob Slade. Has been fitted with new flywheel and starter motor. Recently serviced by Collins Racing Services for race ready condition.


History

Car was build in 1978 by Shadow cars for testing and qualifying purpose only. Has smaller capacity fuel tank and narrower shaped body. Was driven by Elio de Angelis and Jan Lammers in 1979 and 1980. Bought incomplete (no engine & transmission) from Don Nichols of Shadow cars by Phil Schmidt who restored it in 1993/1994. Raced by Phil from 1995-2000 in 9 historic races. Bought by current owner in 2005 and raced through 2010 in 12 HGP events including at Rd.America, Watkins Glen, Sears Point, Laguna Seca, Mt. Tremblant,Thunderhill and Willow Springs. Engine was rebuild by Bob Slade in 2005 and has only 7 hours since. Recently totally checked and fitted with new fuel lines, new starter motor and flywheel, etc by Collins Racing Services.Comes with complete history, FIA Historic Technical Passport and many factory drawings.Performance Data
