1972 Ray Formula Ford - SOLD

Description:
This extremely rare race car is Vintage Legal and is outfitted with a fuel cell and the original specification
side radiators. It has just undergone a bare frame restoration, which was completed in October 1998.
New Aluminum floorpan and side panels were fabricated. Aircraft rivets and hardware were used throughout
the restoration.
New Weller wheels and Dunlop tires are fitted. The original Spax shocks were rebuilt.
New brake pads with turned rotors are installed.
The Hewland Mk8 transmission was rebuilt. New battery, switches, rebuilt starter, are new wiring throughout were installed.
New brake and clutch master cylinders are fitted. There is zero time on the engine being built by Butler (Cricket Farms Motors-Vintage FF Daytona record holder.)
This car won the 1990 Road Atlanta Walter Mitty in something far short of its current restored condition.
The car is professionally restored and maintained.
History
These cars are said to have the same chassis as Brabham BT-21 (designer Burt Ray was former a Brabham engineer.)
Documentation by Burt Ray in writng to be one of the earliest Ray FF's, and therefore HSR and SVRA eligible.
Competition History
Savannah practice session in July of 1999. It turned consistent 1:18's which is 3 seconds under fastest lap
recorded in Spring 1999 SVRA Vintage race at Savannah.
