Description:


The car was rebuilt over the course of 1997-98 stemming from a wreck the owner was involved in at Connellsville
in 1997. The frame was straightened and upgraded to meet the new SCCA requirements by Steve Cole. A new Z10C
front suspension with full Ackerman steering was also done by Steve Cole. The nose was replaced with a new style from Danny Dennis
(molds designed by Rex Gunning) in Texas. It is a bullet style nose rather than the "old" chisel shape.


History

The current owner bought the car, a 1978 Zink Z10A, in 1995, he cleaned it up mechanically, had Quicksilver rebuild
the engine and painted it Yellow and raced it in 1996 and early 97. The car was wrecked as mentioned above
and restored over the course of 1997 and 1998.

Engine

  • Quicksilver rebuilt in 96 with about 7 races since.
  • leakdown shows only 3 to 6% loss
  • oil pressure 40 PSI at racing temps
  • Quick silver head, but not the new improved ones
