History
Car was built as a one-off by Porsche in the Weissach works. Several engineers were asked to build an off-budget, "skunk-works" car using "spare" items from the works. Eberhard Braun designed/built this car which raced in the Interserie (small block division). You'll note the remarkable resemblance to the 917 series. It was then sold to Max Moritz who raced it and then converted it to a hill climb car. It was retired and sold after several years to Americans who transported it to the US, did some restoration but never raced it. It was then bought in Texas and raced professionally in Mexico and the southwest and as an ASR car in SCCA. Then sold in upstate New York, and raced in SVRA and HSR. The Current owner bought it after it sat in the garage for about 8 yrs. Over the last year I have rebuilt or replaced many items, some of which are listed below. The car won the Corinthian Vintage championship beating a Lola T-70 and even once beat a McLaren Shadow! This car just last week won 1st overall in the Porsche Club of America sprint race at Texas World Speedway where it's times were competitive with the former Seikel team, LeMans-winning Porsche GT3RS which was in the other run group.
Competition History
Just raced in PCA where it won first overall and ran times competitive with a former LeMans winning Porsche GT-3RS. Won CVAR 2002 championship with races at Texas World Spdwy and Hallet.
