Description:
Ground up restoration to create a replica of the Black 911 IROC Race car that was raced in '74 in the first IROC series. Its being buit to spec for GT Group 5 HSR and was being completed in stages and used for PCA DEs until ready to race. The car is 90% complete and requires a fuel cell and roll cage to complete. Restoration was done to concourse level. Weight 2192 lbs. Rear and side windows replaced with Lexan polycarbonate, windshield still original safetly glass. Steel doors, and frames retained for originality but window winders were removed to save weight with leather straps to operate windows. RSR interior trim and with Alcantara covered FG dashpad. RSR coilover suspension with special shock valving to match 425lbs/in fron and 525lbs/in rear springs. Poly bronze ER bushings on front A-arms & ER 935 Rear spring plate. Smart Racing anti sway bars front and rear. Dual adjustable master cylinder (SCRS Type) with 944T front and Carrera rear brakes. Gearbox was rebuilt by Goldcrest Motorsports with short ratios: 1(3.18), 2(2.0, 3(1.6), 4(1.26), 5(1.04) FDR 3.88 Guard Transmission 50/80 LSD, all worn parts replaced. 2 Hours since rebuild. Hargett shifter Motor: 3.0l dual plug 11.3 CR dyno @ 330hp @ 8K Rpm & 240ft-lbs @ 6.2K RPM. Spec designed and parts provided and mocked up by Mike Bruns from JB racing, Elgin 315/296-106 lobes (spaced 106 for merge collector use) new porsche main bearings with GT3RSR big-end bearings. GT3 oil pump, with cross drilled crank and modified case for better oil supply to bigend bearings, new oil squirters, straight cut intermediate shaft gears, Pauter rods, heads done by Xtreme cylinder heads 52mm Inlet 42mm exhaust. PMO 50mm Carbs, dual MSDs fired by JB racing twinplug distributor. 7 Hrs on motor
